Lion Safari Tour to Tavarekoppa at Shimoga District (Two nights and one day).
Shimoga is situated at distance of 110 kms from Udupi. Ten kms from Shimoga enroute to Sagar town is the Lion Safari, started in 1988 is home to all kinds of wild life. It is spread across 400 hectares of dense forest. You can be witness to the grace, diversity, colors, and marvel of nature and catch enlivening glimpses of lions, tigers, cheetahs, bears, deers, and rare migratory birds as they amble around in luxuriant habitat. From Shimoga we travel towards Sakrebylu that is the paradise to the wild and lively elephants. It is really very nice to see elephants from the adjoining forests bathe at this spot before they re-enter their forest abode. Every morning these majestic creatures waddle down to the waters and after having playfully cleansed their bodies and satiated their thirst, they leave the waters before the rays of the sun get stronger. Udupi Suttha (Two nights and one day)
Suttah - is a Kannada word means around. So this tour is called "Around Udupi". The coastal district of Udupi, with its palm fringed coastline, dotted with bays and estuaries, sheltered by the soaring Western Ghats, is studded with spots of great scenic beauty. Sarojini Naidu, India’s eminent poetess, has aptly described it as "Nandanavana" the Garden of Pleasure. It is also renowned for its pilgrimage centres, as well as its literary traditions and rich cultural heritage.

The Alupa Kings ruled it from the early period of Christian era till the end of 14th century. From the 14th to the 16th centuries the area came under the governance of the Vijayanagar dynasty. But the strongest influence was that of the Portuguese, who arrived on the coast in the 15th century. Haider Ali and Tipu Sultan held sway until 1799 when the British forces defeated Tipu Sultan. The district is well known for its fabulous costumed musical dance drama form, Yakshagana and Kambala-buffalo race and sport popular among the community of cultivators of wetlands.
