Location
Udupi is known all over the world, because of its temple, food and Udupi restaurants. Udupi District was formed in 1998. It has a Railway Station (Konkan Railway) with direct trains coming to Udupi from Mumbai, Delhi, Rajkot and Ahmedabad. Nearly 30-40 buses run daily from Mumbai, (21 - 22 hours of journey) - via Ankola, Kumta, Bhatkal, Dharwad and Belgaum. There are 2 flights daily from Mumbai and from Bangalore. The Airport is located at Bajpe 60 kms away from Udupi. Taxis are available and it is barely an hour’s journey from the airport to Udupi.

Bangalore, the capital of Karnataka is one night journey from Udupi. About 100 buses ply on this route. Manipal, the heaven of students is only 5 kilometres away from Udupi and there are buses every 2 minutes. Mangalore Port City is only 60 km away from Udupi. Express buses ply between Mangalore-Udupi at an interval of 3-4 minutes throughout the day.
